What can be done so that the eyes do not betray mistakes in care, sleepless nights and age?
The skin around the eyes is a very difficult area to fight the signs of aging, because it is very thin, even translucent, and like a mirror reflects our emotions! It is not protected by a lipid layer and is characterized by poor blood circulation. You can always tell by the „eyes” the age we would so much like to hide.
The problem is that the skin around the eyes should be cared for more strongly than the skin on the face, yet all creams are tailored exactly the opposite (lower concentrations of active ingredients). This is because manufacturers are afraid of irritation. When we see the information „avoid the eye area” on any cream, it’s mostly because the manufacturer doesn’t have the appropriate eye test results, or because the cream is too oily, which can result in morning swelling.
Of course, I am not in favor of applying any cream freely to the eye area, because, for example, if a lot of ingredients make us allergic – allergy will appear the fastest on the skin around the eyes! In addition, we should be careful if we are on acne therapy – these types of creams have a drying effect, which is obviously not good for thin skin….
Nonetheless, I would advise using creams designed strictly for the eye area, as they often contain ingredients that are helpful in preventing swelling (caffeine, dextran sulfate, esculin, escin, red grape and green tea extract), bruising (vitamin C, K, arnica, horse chestnut extract, niacinamide, Centella Asiatica, hesperidin) and improve skin tone (wheat protein, peptides).
Often clients ask me „how is it with these eye creams that eliminate puffiness – don’t they dry out since they pull out excess water to reduce bags?”.

Bags under the eyes indicate that for some reason the metabolism is not keeping up, as water is supplied but not sufficiently removed. Wrinkles, on the other hand, appear because the skin around the eyes becomes thinner and thinner, and vasoconstriction of vessels and muscles does not allow moisture to penetrate into the dermis. Swelling under the eyes can also indicate kidney disease, heart disease and be associated with electrolyte imbalances in the blood and lymph.
Makeup removal – such a simple thing, and we do it so badly.
What we should do especially gently – we do hard, tugging and excessive rubbing of the skin in the eye area, while when we apply eye cream we pat „tap, tap”, because we are afraid of stretching it. Nothing could be further from the truth!
We should do the opposite, i.e. when washing off makeup, we apply the product (gentle micellar liquids, lotions) generously to a cotton ball and this to the closed eyes. We keep it like this on the eyes for at least 10 seconds, making tiny circles – as if we wanted to massage the eye in place. This will ensure that the eyeshadow and mascara dissolve, and then in a combing motion we gently remove the makeup. Gentleness and thoroughness at the same time! There must be nothing left of color cosmetics on the eyelids overnight – this can irritate the eye and skin around the lashes.
After a thorough makeup removal, apply the eye cream – with the ingredients I described above – very slowly, massaging in small circles – such a massage will stimulate blood and lymph circulation, relax the muscles and stimulate the skin to produce collagen and hyaluronic acid, oxygenate and nourish the tissues. To make sure that the massage is not too strong, let’s perform it with the ring finger.

We finally made it to summer! However, we should remember to wear sunglasses with sunscreen on sunny days. This will protect us from too much squinting and damage caused by harmful UV rays. We lose a lot of water in hot weather, which is immediately evident from the skin around our eyes, so remember to replenish fluids and eat seasonal fruits and vegetables.
And most importantly! No cream can replace getting 8 hours of sleep every day!
To enhance the care of the eye area – I recommend treatments at the beauty salon.
My favorite treatments of this category:
+ Treatment with mandelic acid – brightening effect, thioglycolic acid – chelating effect on metal ions and improving collagen and elastin structures, phytic acid – brightening effect.
+ Treatments with vitamin C and algae mask – will nourish, brighten and moisturize the skin around the eyes.
+ For drooping eyelids and lack of tone – I recommend thermolifting with radiofrequency waves, which produces the heat energy needed to shrink collagen fibers and stimulate fibroblasts to initiate renewal and remodeling processes. The skin becomes dense and visibly lifted.
+ Carboxytherapy and needle mesotherapy – carbon dioxide will cause the dilation of blood vessels and the formation of new capillaries, increases the flow of blood, oxygen and nutrients which causes cell renewal. Needle mesotherapy is the most effective method of revitalizing and hydrating the skin around the eyes. With a blend of vitamins, amino acids and hyaluronic acid, it is great for dealing with dark circles, puffiness and wrinkles.
