However, many of us may wonder if it makes sense to think about old age today. The fashion for mindfulness and living in the „here and now” is somewhat at odds with looking ahead. But what if it really comes?

The years-long quest for attractiveness overwhelms most of us, because will we „use” aesthetic medicine to stop time until we die? Is it possible to always look 30-40 years old, or is 20 the only best age for beauty and basta? And even if we manage to rejuvenate the face, will it match the rest of the body?

The answer – fortunately! – comes to mind: there is always a good time for beauty, and if we think wisely about old age today, it will not surprise us with anything in return. And certainly not with symptoms we could have avoided.

Of course, preventive medicine, anti-aging medicine and old age medicine seem to be the answers to the problem of old age, but they are still not a prescription. Sure, specialists in these fields know much more in its context than the „serial” internist, urologist, gynecologist, and have dozens of hormones and medications in relief. But they won’t do for us what only we can influence. So (somewhat philosophically) let’s consider why we should invest in old age.

Statistics of most civilized countries show a decrease in births, families being started at an increasingly later age, and the development of diseases underpinned by stress. Using a mental shortcut, one can conclude from this:

  • Old age can mean a burden on loved ones
  • Old age can mean separation from our children’s lives
  • Old age can mean a long life, but sustained artificially, that is, without fitness and joy
  • old age may require someone’s care – and whose care, since births are becoming fewer and fewer?

However, by investing in ourselves today, the above can even be reversed! After all, even in old age we can be fit, healthy, strong and have a brilliant mind. We can also contribute to society and even become models/models, which surprises no one anymore.

Energy will help us

This development is definitely influenced by skillful energy management. Most of us know that vital energy simply depletes. So we need to replenish it and conserve it at the same time. Practices such as yoga, tai chi, gymnastics with elements of muscle stretching and muscle expansion are among the ways to recharge our batteries and reduce ominous stress.

There is also an important point here. For a long time we can read about people who suddenly started running marathons, competing in triathlons; or who became „old” bodybuilders. Such physical exertion, however, remains in opposition to the principle of energy conservation. It simply requires expending it! Such exertion is permanent stress at the hormonal level. There must be only one conclusion – the bargaining chip in the aging arena is systematic, low-energy exercise.

Action recovery – sleep vs unnecessary activities!

At 30-40 years old, we are at the peak of life. We don’t want to think that we have climbed the „mountain” from which we should just start descending. What’s not. We rush instead to special tasks – often only to repress this fact. Most of us can’t afford to reduce our responsibilities, but as much as possible we can reduce the price we pay for this state of affairs. Drinking alcohol almost every day, late-night „stress-relieving” dinners, staying up late to catch up on the plot of trendy TV series – these are a few of the cardinal sins. Meanwhile, More and more research indicates that a much more important and effective factor for stress reduction and recovery is… sleep. Yes, sleep is an essential part of servicing the body! It also does not require us to buy a gym pass or sign up for a cross-fit studio (and is therefore a very forgiving companion ). The ideal sleep time is eight hours, which should start around 10 p.m. The best rule of thumb: it’s better to get up at dawn than to lie down after midnight.

The condition of the body, i.e. skin, muscles, tendons, etc., is a fallout of diet, physical activity, skin care and mindset. Long-term studies of aging populations have shown that our diet should include a wide variety of natural ingredients, as little processed as possible, with an equal supply of protein – 3 times a day. Such a diet reduces the loss of valuable muscle mass, and therefore prevents the loss of energy centers, or cellular mitochondria. Think of them as furnaces in factories. When we have more of them, we can produce more – and when they go out, production decreases. As we age, unfortunately, the number of furnaces in the body naturally decreases. By training our muscles, on the other hand, we can replenish their amount.

Taking care of the condition of the skin is a task that should be conscientiously carried out from the beginning of life, but more deliberately from around the age of 25. This is the point at which regenerative processes begin to slow down – no matter how perfect we look. The field of aesthetic medicine has finally entered the field of layering, that is, the stimulation of all the structures that affect the appearance of the skin. In terms of the skin’s appearance, we talk about its cohesiveness, or firmness and thickness, the degree of stretch or firmness of the muscles of the entire body, the number and depth of wrinkles and furrows, and the texture of the skin’s surface.

So it is a big mistake to undergo treatments that only touch part of this multi-layered structure! What does this mean? That administering, for example, hyaluronic acid fillers or injecting the face with Botox is not at all a way to look beautiful. Beautiful and old are concepts that can definitely coexist, but only when we combine prevention (exercising muscles and joints, massages, stretching, micro-nourishing the skin) with a series of small but targeted CORRECTING treatments.

We can divide the recipients of aesthetic medicine treatments into groups based on age, although this division is sometimes not obvious. Each skin ages differently and will require an individual approach, but its regenerative mechanisms are within certain limits.

1.Up to the age of 30 – we should be able to take excellent care, that is, using lotions, toners, scrubs, creams, serums and UV filters. We can enhance their effects through massage, which will stimulate the work of skin cells and the production of collagen and elastin. Little is said about this but massage is one of the most natural and effective ways to maintain the rate of production of the skin’s stellar fibers. We may not love biology, but each of us knows that our body has the ability to regenerate! If we cut the skin, it will knit itself back together. This is due to its ability to recreate a scaffolding (such, say, a bridge construction made of spans). This scaffolding and these spans are precisely collagen fibers entwined with elastin fibers. Massage, in turn, through movements parallel to the cell surface, stimulates its manufacturing properties.
Other treatments for this age group will be:
– exfoliation with fruit acids
– mesotherapy with hyaluronic acid and nourishing cocktails
– Botox, if our muscles contract excessively and their work is marked on the skin in wrinkles of the kind that give the face a sad or angry look. At such an early age, one can unquestionably use botox for specific cases of this type.

2. up to 50 years of age – turning 30, we begin to notice „some” aging processes. This can be a loss of skin firmness, wrinkles, slow loss of facial volume (especially around the eye sockets, cheeks, temples).
It is usually not a sudden process (unless we get very thin, go through a severe illness, mental breakdown, etc.) and its symptoms do not show up wholesale!
This is the best time to sustain the pace of regenerative processes. During this period of life, we should take special care of micro-nutrition, that is, providing our cells with all the necessary elements and vitamins. So if time has taken away our fat padding, such as in the upper cheek area, we can rebuild it by just doing hyaluronic acid injections. If we are bothered by drooping corners of the mouth, we can lift them just by doing hyaluronic acid injections.
Keep in mind, however, that skin that is stimulated and perfectly nourished will require/need such adjustments less and later.

3. after 50 years of age – this stage is a time of slowdown for our body, often due to excessive energy expenditure. Our cells, especially in women subject to the influence of many hormones, begin to switch to „stand by” mode. They regenerate, but to a much lesser degree. Of course, our bodies are still able to „heal” themselves, we still heal our wounds, our skin still regenerates – but there is no 100% to 100% replacement.
In this case – to support the skin in its work – we need to damage it more from time to time. It sounds almost like madness, but… remember that we are only using the ORGANISM’S NATURAL ABILITY TO REGENERATE. After all, the damage will trigger a small battle in the already a bit lazy skin, and force it to fully mobilize. Mobilization means that some of the cells that would like to retire already – will continue to work fully.

It all depends on the condition and needs of our skin; which treatment we are currently on, what diet we are on, etc. So let our direction be guided by the competent knowledge of a specialist, who will LEAD our care and health activities.

We should also not forget the salutary effect of massage and so schedule it throughout our lives. Facial massages are even an essential procedure in maintaining healthy, beautiful skin and facial oval, and in the case of the body we train – also a necessity.
The problem is that our culture does not have such a tradition, but looking at the countries with the most healthy 100-year-olds – it’s even a basic element of hygiene!

Of course, taking into account the number of people living in a country, the statistics will not be objective, but there is still a common denominator for them – moderately little food, movement and a developed social life, i.e. a reduction in loneliness. In many countries, women and men build support groups, attend saunas and hamams together, enjoy massages, cook, etc. So the recipe for longevity is SIMPLICITY AND COMMUNITY.

This is impossible, and the process of inhibiting the effects of aging is so multifaceted that a single doctor/cosmetologist cannot apply them in practice.
