First Podiatric Consultation with Treatment

First podiatric consultation – diagnosis and an individual treatment plan

The first visit to a podiatrist is a key stage in diagnosing and planning treatment of skin lesions and nail problems. The consultation allows a full analysis of foot health, an assessment of biomechanics and the creation of an individual treatment plan tailored to the patient's needs.

What does the first podiatric consultation involve?

A detailed medical interview – review of past illnesses, medications and factors affecting the skin and nails. Assessment of foot biomechanics – analysis of gait and foot positioning that may influence deformities and pain. Diagnosis of skin lesions – evaluation of the epidermis, nails and any fungal or bacterial infections.

Selection of individual therapy – planning podiatric treatment tailored to the patient's specific problems. Care recommendations – guidance on home care for foot skin and nails. During the consultation the podiatrist also assesses how lifestyle affects foot health, footwear, physical activity and diet, which can be key to the condition of skin and nails.

  • Discussion of how lifestyle, diet and footwear affect the feet
  • Early detection and prevention of more serious conditions
  • Individual selection of treatments and care tailored to the problem

Indications3
