General causes of spinal ailments:

– Most often, back pain is caused by poor posture combined with underdeveloped back muscles. This leads to their significant tension and abnormal strain on the spine. A typical cause of the „tired back” feeling is prolonged sitting or standing.
– Muscle tension, which increases in stressful situations, mental tension, or with an unergonomic workstation.
– Damage to the intervertebral disc (disk), which can lead to its so-called „displacement” or „prolapse”.
– Degenerative changes in the joints of the spine, resulting from aging.
– Destruction of the vertebrae, such as from an accident or osteoporosis.
– Strains or injuries to back muscles, such as from unpredictable movements or trauma.
– Diseases caused by inflammation of the joints of the spine, vertebrae or their surrounding areas.

People in so-called high-risk groups for back pain syndrome are particularly susceptible to the condition:

– high height of women over 170 cm and men over 180 cm,
– obesity,
– age between 40 and 59 years,
– frequent pregnancies,
– abdominal muscle weakness,
– musculoskeletal injuries.

Work also has a huge impact on spinal health, and the risk factors associated with it are:

– office work with long hours of sitting position.
