Nosal Correction
The results of the treatment are as follows:
– nasal hump reduction
– saddle nose repair
– correction of the S-shaped asymmetry
– nose widening
– correction of the shape and size of the nose
A non-surgical nasal correction can be performed by means of hyaluronic acid injections.
The extent of such correction is not spectacular, but it often helps the patient ensure whether a surgical procedure is absolutely necessary.
Minor imperfections of the nasal shape do not require surgery and the effects of the treatment last many months.
Prior to the treatment, Emla cream is applied to the nose as an anaesthetic. After disinfecting the treated area, hyaluronic acid is injected with a needle. The acid lifts the tissues and increases their volume, resulting in the correction.
In the case of a nasal hump, hyaluronic acid can be injected into the starting point and the tip of the nose, which will make the bump on its bridge ‘disappear’.
Hyaluronic acid is a biodegradable substance that will be completely absorbed after a specific period of time. The effects of the treatment last about 6 months; after this period, the procedure may be repeated. This is very important in view of the aging processes which cause various alterations in the tissues. The use of biodegradable preparations allows us to correct them as they occur. Consequently, the shape of the nose can be adjusted to the anatomical changes.
Contraindications:
– inflammation of the skin.
– active herpes,
– severe systemic diseases,
– pregnancy and lactation (relative contraindication),
– autoimmune diseases,
– tendency for scarring.
Post-treatment recommendations:
There may be some swelling immediately after the treatment; its intensity depends on which area has been injected with the filler.
The full result of the treatment can be seen after 48-72 hours.
Normal washing and make-up products may be used; they must be applied with clean hands.
The following are best avoided for 24 hours after the treatment:
– fruit acid creams – they may cause stinging and irritation of the skin
– alcohol consumption, sauna, swimming and sun exposure
– exercise involving jumps (aerobics, running)
– air travel immediately after the treatment
An interval of 28 days is recommended before treatment with laser, IPL and skin tightening devices. Other injections, peelings and microdermabrasion may be performed after 7 days. Healing therapies (e.g. red light) can be used immediately.
Air travel is allowed, but it may cause swelling to recur or last longer. The filler is best injected at least 72 hours before the flight.
