Inflammation means that levels of so-called messengers – or „messengers” – that stimulate immune cells to work in our bodies have risen. These are proteins also known as – inflammatory cytokines. Let’s remember this word. Cytokines orchestrate the course of inflammation: e.g. restoration of tissue after an injury, repair and growth of new blood vessels, etc. <\/p>\n
It is worth noting that cytokines do not act only locally, that is, if inflammation of the facial skin occurs, we must remember that it will trigger a response of the whole system! Thus, it is a burden on our entire immune\/immune system. Elevated levels of cytokines can occur due to inflammatory bowel disease, autoimmune diseases (PCOS, Hashimoto’s, etc.), insulin resistance or even obesity. <\/p>\n
The first step – multi-specialist consultation<\/strong><\/p>\n A thorough analysis of our body and finding the true cause of acne is the KEY to SUCCESS. Which treatments are most appropriate? <\/p>\n Most often we start with chemical peels using antioxidants (polyphenols) and\/or azelaic acid. The latter acts a bit like an antibiotic – it reduces the proliferation of pathogenic bacteria, but does not make them resistant to its effects and does not kill our physiological bacterial flora. Such specialized treatments should be supported by properly selected home care. <\/p>\n What to avoid?<\/strong><\/p>\n Absolutely forbidden are gels and tonics containing alcohol! It is also recommended to give up most mattifying creams and commonly recommended medicated creams for acne. It is advisable to use preparations free of the most irritating substances, namely petroleum derivatives, silicones, fragrances, parabens and many others. What else can we do for our skin?<\/strong><\/p>\n Once we manage to calm the skin and reduce inflammatory lesions, we can consider eliminating erythema or dilated blood vessels with a laser<\/a>. Laser is a very helpful device but remember that it is only safe in very experienced hands! <\/p>\n The laser uses tremendous energy to destroy a particular skin structure – in this case a blood vessel. It proceeds in such a way that the appropriate wavelength of light is absorbed by a particular pigment in the skin like melanin, or hemoglobin. The wavelength of the light must be adjusted to the structure in question. The QuadroStar Pro Yellow laser<\/a> used to close blood vessels is of such a selective length that its energy is absorbed almost 100% by the pigment, allowing the use of far less energy and thus minimizing side effects such as burning.
